“In the beginning I struggled the same way you all struggle. Believe me, I felt stupid to say things. I didn’t want to be judged. I was judged coming from the high school I came from. I didn’t dare try because I was paralyzed and criticized all the time. I never felt comfortable speaking in a foreign language because I was criticized. If you make a person fearful, then they’re not going to open their mouth anymore.”—Franca Hamber
“Hamber believes that, for students to be comfortable with a foreign language, there are certain requirements that must be met. She claims that a connection must be made by students from their own lives to the language by Hamber using her body language and by showing props that link to the vocabulary. As a result, students are able to relate to the language and comprehend better.”—Stephanie Weldy, Professor Hamber Says “Boun Giorno”
I’ve been systematically going through each of OOR’s albums through YouTube. After watching their concert, I guess I’m more inclined to like their songs? I don’t know. I thought I went through most of their songs before, but I don’t remember liking this many of them.
I only buy CDs if I like a majority of the songs on them, so saying I’d be willing to buy all of OOR’s albums (if I could afford to) is really something.
I can’t speak. :< And I’d heard of Anki before, but I’m going to consider downloading it now. Because I’m supposed to be working on my Japanese portfolio project, and I’ve only just started learning the words from the first week. I shouldn’t have tried to make flashcards and just sat down and memorized/used Quizlet or some other SRS instead.
THATS COMPLETELY UNREASONABLE! And if that means you’re bad at languages, uh you proved them wrong just by your major LOL. And they said small percent! That doesn’t even mean you fall into that category.
Well, they also said “Given the relatively weak signal that we measure, introducing this variability into our studies can make identifying functional specialization difficult.” So I guess it’s understandable. I wish they’d written all the requirements on their flyer. They only mentioned that you have to be 18+ years old. :\
